Scott Baillie’s Biography – Recruiting and Beyond

Before his twentieth birthday Scott was producing and promoting stadium rock concerts for the biggest bands and entertainers in the world.  By his thirties his insights into business, software development, recruiting and technology placed him in the middle of the Internet revolution, influencing the very heart of the breakthrough companies redefining the world of commerce.

He was a pioneer in the electronic tax filing industry, developing software and establishing companies and products that transformed the filing of personal income taxes and created a multi-billion dollar industry.  In his capacity as a consultant, he has served on advisory boards for the IRS and the Pentagon.

Baillie served as a recruiting leader, staffing strategist and advisor for such acclaimed corporations as Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen’s Vulcan, Inc., Starbucks Coffee Company, Amazon.com, Classmates Online, Microsoft, RealNetworks, Clearwire, DocuSign, Parallels  and a host of other established, venture funded and start-up enterprises.

Among his diverse career successes, Baillie co-created and executive produced the Fox/20th Television national reality show, “ClassmatesTV”, based on the original web social network, Classmates.com.   Forging a “first-of-kind” media convergence model, Baillie’s collaboration with a renowned producer and reality television pioneer, created a broadcast property that translated the power of a web brand into television success.  This unique concept was written up in Fortune, Business Week, Variety and many other topical publications and generated millions of dollars of value and revenue for the website, Classmates.com.

Additionally, Baillie re-branded and expanded the Celebrity Yearbook Archives collection for Classmates.com.   Images from this archive are seen in print and broadcast media by over 300 million global consumers per year.  He also appeared on E! Entertainment’s “Celebrity Yearbook” specials as a topical expert on entertainers in their youth.  Baillie was also a featured guest on morning drive time radio programs across the country where he discussed the impact of high school on celebrities.

A prolific writer, his first novel, “Where the Sun Don’t Shine” was released to wide acclaim and positive reviews.  His next novel is nearing completion.

Baillie continues to work internationally in the areas of recruiting, technology, business development and creative services, throughout the Americas, APAC, EMEA and Russia.

He is a graduate of the University of Idaho and holds a BS degree in Marketing Education with a minor in Consumer Economics.  An avid photographer, he studied professionally through the New York Institute of Photography.
